OKX

OKX API key safety checklist

How to configure OKX API keys with minimal permissions and safer operational boundaries.

Workflow checklist

Least privilege

Enable only the permissions needed for reading and trading.

No withdrawals

Never enable withdrawal or asset transfer permission.

Review

Rotate or disable keys that are no longer needed.

No promised results

Use the toolkit as software and workflow support, not as investment advice or a profit guarantee.

Before production use

Start with demo mode, testnet, or a small controlled workflow. Confirm data reads, risk limits, execution records, cancellation handling, and manual pause behavior before increasing scope.

OFC does not custody assets, does not request withdrawal permission, and does not operate exchange accounts for users.

API boundary

Read and trade permissions only. No withdrawals.

Risk boundary

Capital caps, position caps, leverage caps, and cooldowns should be explicit.

Human review

Keep a manual decision and pause path available.
