OKX GUIDE
OKX API execution assistant setup
Use this page as a safety-first checklist before connecting OKX to a trading workflow. The goal is not to promise profit; it is to keep permissions, risk limits, records, and manual control clear.
Who OKX workflows are suitable for
OKX is a better fit for users who already understand spot or derivatives products, can read order and position records, and want a structured workflow for reviewing signals, risk limits, and execution logs. It is not a good fit for users who want a hands-off profit machine or who do not understand API permissions.
Safer API permission setup
Use read-only access first to confirm balances, order history, symbols, and records before any order-enabled workflow.
Enable trade permission only for workflows that actually need order placement or cancellation assistance.
OFC does not need withdrawal permission, asset-transfer permission, exchange passwords, or seed phrases.
OKX recommends linking API keys to IP addresses; keys with trade or withdrawal permission and no IP binding can expire after inactivity.
Common OKX setup mistakes
OKX demo and real environments use different settings. Confirm the toolkit mode before testing orders.
The passphrase must be stored safely. If it is lost, the key may need to be recreated.
Position mode, margin mode, and instrument type can change order parameters. Test one product at a time.
Every workflow should have a manual pause path before live use.
What OFC can do
OFC can help display signals, organize risk status, apply local capital and position limits, assist approved API order workflows, record execution attempts, and keep review notes in one place. The toolkit is designed for research-first workflow support, not blind automation.
What OFC cannot do
OFC cannot guarantee profit, prevent all losses, manage your assets, operate your exchange account for you, or decide your risk tolerance. It does not request withdrawal permission and does not custody funds.
Before production use
Use demo mode or a very small controlled workflow before increasing scope.
Confirm that reads, order attempts, cancellations, failures, and manual pauses are recorded.
Define capital caps, position caps, leverage caps, cooldowns, and abnormal-market pause rules.
Delete unused keys, rotate keys when needed, and keep API credentials out of public code or chat.
