BYBIT GUIDE

Bybit API execution assistant setup

This page helps Bybit users set up a safer API workflow for signal review, risk controls, execution assistance, and records. It is a workflow guide, not financial advice or a profit guarantee.

Who Bybit workflows are suitable for

Bybit workflows are suitable for users who understand their account mode, product type, and leverage rules before connecting any API key. If you are new to Bybit, start with read-only review and demo or testnet practice before any order-enabled workflow.

Safer API permission setup

Create keys on the website

Bybit states API key creation is done via the website, not the app. Use the official API management page.

Separate Mainnet and Testnet

Use separate keys for live and testnet workflows. Do not mix test keys and live keys in the same configuration.

Use required permissions only

Start with read-only access. Add trading permission only if the workflow actually needs execution assistance.

Never share keys

Bybit's RSA key guidance says not to share your keys. OFC does not need withdrawal permission or custody access.

Common Bybit setup mistakes

New account restriction

New users may be restricted from creating API keys for a period after registration. Do not treat that as a toolkit error.

Account mode mismatch

Unified account settings, derivatives settings, and product availability can affect order behavior.

Wrong key type

System-generated and self-generated RSA keys have different setup steps. Use one clear method and document it.

No risk boundary

Before live use, define max exposure, leverage caps, cooldowns, stop rules, and manual pause.

What OFC can do

OFC can help organize Bybit signal review, risk settings, execution-assistance checks, order/cancel records, error notes, and manual review steps. It can help you keep a workflow consistent instead of scattering decisions across exchange screens and notes.

What OFC cannot do

OFC cannot guarantee profit, prevent all losses, choose leverage for you, custody assets, recover lost funds, or operate your exchange account. It does not request withdrawal permission, exchange passwords, seed phrases, or private keys.

Before production use

Use demo or testnet first

Confirm reads, orders, cancellations, and records outside live exposure when possible.

Check product rules

Confirm spot, derivatives, account mode, margin mode, and leverage settings before order-enabled testing.

Start small

Use small controlled exposure only after the workflow has passed read, order, cancel, and pause tests.

Keep credentials private

Do not paste API secrets into public code, screenshots, chat logs, or shared documents.
